Code of Conduct vs Code of Ethics

Code of Conduct and a Code of Ethics are both sets of guidelines that outline expected behaviour and standards within an organization or profession.

However, there are some key differences between the two.

Code of Conduct

Code of Ethics is broad and principles-based, emphasizing moral values and ethical principles that guide decision-making and behaviour. It often includes concepts such as integrity, honesty, fairness, and respect.

A Code of Conduct provides specific guidelines for behaviour.

A Code of Ethics serves as a moral compass, guiding individuals to make ethical choices in various situations.
