4–5 September 2026 | Umfula Lodge, Parys
There is something special about spending a day surrounded by people who share the same passion. Whether you are a lifelong breeder, a first-time bird owner, a club member, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of birds, PASA Expo Weekend 2026 promises to be one of the highlights of the South African avicultural calendar.
Taking place on Friday, 4 September and Saturday, 5 September 2026 at the beautiful Umfula Lodge near Parys, the expo has been designed with one purpose in mind—to bring the entire avicultural community together under one roof.
Proudly Supported by Industry Leaders
The organisers are proud to announce Treys Birds as the Main Sponsor of PASA Expo Weekend 2026. Their commitment to supporting responsible aviculture and events that unite the birdkeeping community has played an important role in making this year’s expo possible.
PASA would also like to express its sincere appreciation to our valued supporting sponsors:
- Aviplus
- CT Birds
- Avizandum Birdkeeping Magazine
- Johan Stals
Their continued support of South African aviculture, education, and responsible birdkeeping helps make events such as the PASA Expo Weekend possible.
More Than Just an Expo
PASA Expo is not simply another bird event. It is an opportunity to strengthen friendships, exchange ideas, discover new products, and learn from some of the country’s most respected aviculturists.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet breeders from across Southern Africa, interact with industry suppliers, and explore the latest products and services available to bird enthusiasts.
Whether your interest lies in parrots, canaries, finches, softbills, pigeons, poultry or any other aspect of aviculture, there will be something of value for everyone.
Guest Speakers
Education remains one of the cornerstones of responsible birdkeeping, and this year’s speaker programme reflects that commitment.
Visitors can look forward to presentations by respected aviculturists including:
- William Horsfield – Amazona Endangered Parrot Breeding Facility
- Ben Minnaar – Aviculturist and breeder
Additional guest speakers will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event, ensuring a full day of informative and practical presentations covering breeding, nutrition, conservation, management, and the future of aviculture.
A Platform for Clubs and Associations
One of the unique aspects of this year’s expo is the invitation extended to all affiliated bird clubs, associations and societies throughout Southern Africa.
Rather than working independently, PASA believes the future of aviculture depends on collaboration. Clubs are encouraged to attend, display their banners, promote their organisations, and meet potential new members.
Clubs wishing only to promote their organisation and display banners are welcome to do so free of charge, making it easier than ever to showcase the important work they do within the birdkeeping community.
Trade Stands and Exhibitors
Visitors will have access to a wide variety of exhibitors offering:
- Bird nutrition products
- Aviary equipment
- Breeding accessories
- Cages and housing
- Veterinary products
- Educational material
- Bird transport solutions
- Club information
- Conservation initiatives
For businesses, manufacturers, breeders, and retailers, the expo provides an excellent opportunity to engage directly with a targeted audience of passionate bird owners and breeders from across South Africa.
An Evening to Remember
Following the day’s activities, guests are invited to enjoy a traditional Spitbraai together with live entertainment by Neil Somers.
The evening offers the perfect opportunity to relax, network with fellow enthusiasts, and celebrate the shared passion for birds in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
PASA Annual General Meeting
The weekend continues on Saturday, 5 September, with the Parrot Breeders Association of Southern Africa (PASA) Annual General Meeting, where members will discuss the future of the association and important developments affecting aviculture in Southern Africa.
Supporting Responsible Aviculture
PASA Expo represents far more than a social gathering.
It reflects the commitment of the South African birdkeeping community towards:
- Responsible bird ownership
- Ethical breeding practices
- Education
- Conservation
- Biosecurity
- Legislative compliance
- Cooperation between clubs, breeders, and organisations
By sharing knowledge and working together, breeders and enthusiasts can help ensure a strong and sustainable future for aviculture.
Join Us
Whether you are an experienced breeder, a newcomer to the hobby, a club committee member, a supplier, or simply someone who enjoys birds, the PVSA Expo Weekend offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and become part of a growing community dedicated to responsible aviculture.
